“When God has you on hold; don’t hang up.”
– Evangelist Louise D. Patterson
On Sunday, May 22, 1966, while attending church and earnestly listening to the message being delivered by Bishop (Apostle) G.E. Patterson which included the scriptures Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths,” the scriptures became very enlightening to Louise D. Patterson. That day she received salvation through Jesus Christ and joined the church. A few months later he baptized her and on January 24, 1967, and she received the gift of the Holy Ghost. After she was saved, baptized, and filled with the Holy Ghost under his ministry, they were later married on May 27, 1967. Bishop Patterson called her his “number one student”; and she often said (borrowing the tagline from the utility company General Electric) “G.E. brings good things to light.” That truth is still being realized!
